Research Compliance
The Office of Research Compliance provides assistance to faculty and oversight of research to ensure that all research at EMU is conducted responsibly, ethically, and within the current regulatory framework. The committees housed within the Office of Research Compliance are:
- The University Human Subjects Review Committee (UHSRC)
- The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
- The Academic Integrity Committee (AIC)
In addition, the Office of Research Compliance provides consultation on the compliance of Conflict of Interest and Commitment, Export Controls and Embargoes, Research Security, Radiation Safety, and Biosafety.

Drone Use in Teaching and Research: Due to current federal requirements and pending federal legislation, EMU will only allow purchase and use of drones approved by the federal government ( Blue UAS Cleared List ). Please consult this chart for regulatory jurisdiction for drone use. You can also consult the Board of Regents policy for more information.
